British Columbia Oldtimers Motocross (BCOT Motocross) is now British Columbia Vet Motocross (BC Vet MX)!
In 2025 the club has re-branded to BC Vet MX to follow suit with our sanctioning organization, the International Vet Motocross Association (IVMX), formerly known as the 'International Oldtimers Motocross Association' (IOTMX).
IVMX is a motocross race series, where riders accumulate points toward overall placement at the end of the season each calendar year. We are dedicated to the great sport of motocross, a family-oriented, healthy sport that is considered to be one of the most physically demanding in the world. Our first official meeting was January 9, 1974. Later that year the club joined the U.S Association making the association an international one. Our home track is the beautiful Agassiz track, near Harrison Hot Springs Resort.

Officially, 'Vets' or 'Vet Motocross Riders' are 30 years and older. Vet classes can accumulate points and compete in the IVMX series. All classes are decided by ability: Novice, Intermediate, Expert, and Master. People under 30, and on a 'big wheel' bike, can race in the support class, however there are no official race series points for these riders. A rider’s age in the +30,+40,+50, +60, +70 and +80 Vet classes will be determined by their birthday reached prior to the end of the calendar year.

Races are open to all, with the only requirement being that you are a member of one of the affiliated International Vet MX clubs. Racers must have a current IVMX membership card showing name, age, date of birth, chapter, rider classification, and year of Issue. This card will be issued when you purchase a membership, and needs to be shown at sign up at an International event. Membership applications are available at the track and on this website. We encourage you to mail in your membership early to avoid delays at the track and get in as much riding time as possible.

Our
Story
In 1972, four semi-retired cross-country / motocross riders wanted to continue to enjoy the sport. These “Original Four” were Ron Farmer (pictured above), Stan Johnson, Brooks Gowanlock and Vern Amor. The first official meeting of the BC Oldtimers Club was January 9, 1974 and the club joined the Oldtimers MX Association around the middle of 1974 making the Association an International one. George Wagstaff was the first President and Brooks Gowanlock was the first club Secretary.

George Wagstaff was President from 1974-1983 and was followed by Brooks Gowanlock from 1984 -1987; Ron Farmer in 1988; John Berezowecki in 1989 and 90; Norm Twa in 1991; Larry Wear in 1992 and 1993; Len Edwards 1994-2001 and Don Tocher 2002-2013. Rick Perrin has been President since 2014.

As a member of the B.C. Custom Car Association, Ron Farmer was deeply involved in building Mission Raceway in 1965. Ron managed the track until it was sold in 1978 to the District of Mission for an industrial park. Part of that deal gave the club the property for a new motorsport facility and promised government help to prepare the site. But, along the way, the politicians forgot their promises, and Ron Farmer led the battle all the way to the Ombudsman's office of the B.C. provincial government and to the Supreme Court. Today, the Mission Raceway Park is thriving and Ron Farmer was still managing it up until the end of '95.

The B.C. Oldtimers Motorcycle Club became the fourth club to join the Oldtimers MX Association, which was founded by Los Angeles and immediately followed by Oregon and Washington. The B.C. entry into the Association in 1974 made it international and the name was changed to the International Oldtimers Motocross Association (IOTMX). The Association now has 10 clubs (2025) from all the Western States and one Western Provinces - B.C.

All our International races are two day events, with 3 motos on Saturday and 2 motos on Sunday. For those over 70, 2 motos on Saturday. All motos are considerably longer than normal local races. For example, the +40 Master class runs five 22 Minute Motos. We like you to go home tired but want you to feel like you earned it.

On Saturday night of our International race, BC Vet MX supplies a first class catered dinner and the best raffle on the circuit. The raffle is also the original one. Although it is becoming quite popular with other clubs, our famous raffle and dinner are still considered one of the best. The rules are 30% trophies and we are generous with that minimum and also pay 100% trophies to anyone over 70. They deserve it. Anyone over 80, rides free, as long as they pre-enter.

Your Club Executive Team.
The club executive are volunteers. They spend countless hours on the many tasks involved in running the club such as track maintenance, managing the finances and administrative aspects of a non-profit organization, such as overseeing our relationship with the Township of Kent. Send us an email at the address below anytime if you have any questions, and say hi when you are at the track! We do this because we love the sport.
